Cartagena Bay is the largest and most secure harbour on the N coast of Colombia. It consists of an outer and an inner harbour, separated by a line joining Punta Castillo Grande and Punta Manzanilla. TERMINAL MARITIMO DE CARTAGENA in the NE part of the inner harbour consists of: Two parallel piers projecting SW from the shore, each about 200 m in length and with depths alongside of 8.2-9.7 m (27'-32'). Marginal 1, 258 m long, depth alongside 8.8 m (29') and Marginal 3, 134 m long, depth alongside 8.0 m (26'), situated W and E respectively of the root of pier I.
